2:15am - Disappointed but resolute, Team Natural State Adventures arrives at TA6

Team Natural State Adventured arrived at TA 6 ahead of scheduled and bummed at their navigation error that led to a 4 hour penalty. Main navigator Rachel Furman acknowledged the mistake and the team indicated that they might have only “skimmed” the rules of travel when given the last map at TA4.
The added challenge in this year’s race of not only plotting points but also reading the rules of travel made the error by Natural State Adventures and a few other teams a real possibility. The mistake is not all that uncommon when fatigue from a day of hard racing leads to mental errors.
